BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES

1. Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences (M.Sc. in Biomedical Sciences)

Minimum Course Units Requirements:

Plan A1 (Thesis) requires 13 course units for degree completion, which is inclusive of 1 course unit of course work.

2. Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Sciences  (Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences)

Minimum Course Units Requirements:

Plan A1 (Thesis)

  • For candidate who is holding a Master’s degree, the program requires 18 Course units of thesis research for degree completion.
  • For candidate who is holding a Bachelor’s degree, the program requires 26 course units of thesis research for degree completion.

Program Profile

….. The Biomedical Sciences Program is an interdisciplinary program under the School of Allied Health Sciences and Public Health. The program offers advanced and multidisciplinary in basic and disease-oriented research. Students who attend this program will be able to choose a field of specialization including Medical Technology, Nutrition, Forensic Science, Toxicology, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Immunology, Molecular Biology and Cancer Biology. The goal of this program is to develop future generations of innovative in Biomedical scientists who will do the research to create new knowledge, solve the health problems, and contribute to the health and well being of mankind.

Research

….. The Biomedical Science Program has an active research program. Recently research projects are in the area of fruit phenolic compounds as anti inflammatory and oral cancer prevention, effects of medicinal plants on diabetes mellitus and peptic ulcer, heavy metal toxicity, neurodegeneration, expression of bacteriocin encoding gene and selection probiotic for lowering cholesterol.
